After relocating to Gulfport Florida in 2021, Silver was asked to compete in
a local competition and was successfully crowned the King of West Florida.
He soon realized there were very few male impersonators, like himself, and
founded the drag king troupe Bois of Florida.
Being crowned Mr. Come Out St. Pete 2024 is the pieces de resistance to
a memorable pastime in entertaining audiences.
Out of drag, Dr. Boyarsky has been a spokesperson and advocate for the
GLBT community since the 1980s. After being fired for being gay in 1993,
she came all the way out of the closet as the Assistant Director of
Communications for Gay Games IV in New York City. She appeared on
television, radio, and in newspapers around the world. That was just the
beginning.
Dr. B marched in Long Island’s first pride parade, despite protests
surrounding the parade route. Sharp shooters were lined along the
rooftops of the buildings in case of a riot. She was later honored to be
Grand Marshall of the 2006 Long Island Pride Parade.
As a minister, she became a strong advocate for same sex marriage and
had the distinct honor of officiating New York’s largest same sex mass
wedding when marriage equality was passed.
